A native of Hinsdale, Illinois, Kevin was born to parents Lynne Plawecki and Jeff Plawecki. Since young, he used to dream about having a career as a baseball player.
So when sent to Westfield High School in Westfield, Indiana by parents, Kevin didn’t squander time and immediately joined the school’s official baseball squad.
By the time he was in the senior year of high school, Plawecki was listed in an All-State Class 4A honorable mention as a catcher.
Despite his outstanding game, Kevin wasn’t drafted in the MLB’s draft following which he attended Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana and became a member of the Purdue Boilermakers baseball team.
As per his bio, Kevin played for the college baseball team throughout the years while also represented the Richmond RiverRats at the collegiate summer baseball league called Prospect League.
In the 2012 MLB draft, Plawecki was drafted by New York Mets as 35th overall pick and within the year 2012 Big Ten Conference Baseball Tournament named him the Most Outstanding Player.
He made his debut with the NY Mets-affiliated minor league baseball team Savannah Sand Gnats and played with the squad until promoted to St. Lucie Mets.
Kevin started the 2014 season by playing for the Binghamton Mets and put on a terrific performance with six home runs and 326 hits.
