Canadian actress, Samantha Weinstein died on May 14, 2023, almost two years after being diagnosed with cancer. She was 28 years old. Her death was announced by her family.

“After two and a half years of cancer treatment, and a lifetime of jet-setting around the world, voicing a plethora of cartoon animals, making music, and knowing more about life than most people ever will, she is off on her next adventure,” an official statement by the family read.

Born on March 20, 1995, she began her professional acting career when she was just 6 years old.  By 13 years old, she had appeared in several movies and tv shows including Siblings, Big Girl, and Ninth Street Chronicles. The Stone Angle, Toronto Stories, and more.

In 2006, she won an ACTRA Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female for her role in Big Girl. She was the youngest actress to ever win the award during that period.

Weinstein was also a voice actress who was featured in several cartoons including Babar and the Adventures of Badou, Gerald McBoing Boing, Wishfart, D. N. Ace, Let’s Go Luna!, Dino Ranch, and more

She was survived by her husband, Michael Knutson, and her sister Sabrina Weinstein.
