According to People, The Queen's Gambit star told Vogue Australia that because of playing the role, she felt "stronger than I think I've ever been." She commented, "I've never had guns before. They are guns of a woman my size, but they are still guns, so I'll take it."

After Taylor-Joy wrapped production on the Mad Max: Fury Road prequel, she posted pictures to Instagram with a caption thanking her fellow cast members. "What. A. Rideeeee. "It has been an honor and a privilege to create with all of you... thank you for making me tougher than I ever thought I could be. Fire, blood and guzzaline," the star finished, before ending the post, writing her name as "Furianya" with a fire emoji accompanying it.
